I remember the moment like it was yesterday. Before I launched my blog 3 years ago, I was petrified. In fact, I was curled up in fetal position crying more than I was living life at that point.
Don’t feel too bad for me. I dried up those tears really quick with an endless amount of chocolate, dancing, and monkey videos, then I was on my way to discovering Antelope Canyon in Arizona, and soon, the rest of the world, including Peru and Costa Rica!
There is an endless amount of tech knowledge that goes into starting a blog, and I had to teach myself about all of the blogging ways of the world from day one. What is SEO?! Keywords!? What do these things even mean?! How do I market this thing? Someone tell me all the things!
I had some help though, by attending conferences like TBEX, joining an endless amount of Facebook groups, and ultimately understanding that it is OKAY to to screw up! Perfectionism is a disease guys. Mistakes are HUMAN.
I had no idea how to start a website! Would people even want to read what I wrote? I mean, I have been traveling and writing about it as long as I can remember, from scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, to participating in the largest tomato fight in Spain, but exposing that for all the world to see is a different subject.
The only thing I knew was this: I was deeply passionate about travel and I wanted to encourage others to travel, so that they too could understand how therapeutic and magical it could be. Solo travel unearthed my soul that was deeply buried in the pleasure of creature comforts. It redefined me.
Now here I am, typing away at a cute cafe, relishing in the freedom to take a break whenever I please, and deciding which press trip I want to apply for next or company I want to work with. I am my own boss. Well, being a social media manager helps too. It is a blissful feeling, so I am taking a moment to remember where I came from and THANK ALL OF YOU for reading about my experiences and this crazy ride!
I am thanking you today by giving away a Cabin Zero bag that you might have seen in my travels on Instagram!
In order to receive the Cabin Zero Bag, (which may be a different size or color than the one pictured), I am having a Rafflecopter Giveaway shown below. The person who wins the giveaway will receive a $50 voucher to use on the Cabin Zero website toward any bag (or even travel cubes) that suit their fancy! Please note: it does not include shipping costs! Anyone in the world is eligible to enter!
Love your travel adventures
